Vice-Presidents give annual address

Carleton Provost and Vice-President (Academic), Alan Harrison, and Vice-President (Research and International) both gave annual presentations to faculty and staff last month.

Both highlighted Carleton’s many accomplishments and new initiatives in line with the University’s strategic themes. Of note, Hamdullahpur discussed the challenges and opportunities in obtaining external research funding, new initiatives to assist with the preparation of research proposals, and recognizing research excellence in assisting with the submission of nominations for major external research awards.

In his presentation to faculty and staff, Harrison discussed the continued efforts to improve the student experience at Carleton, including long-term plans and expected outcomes, and performance indicators. To view Harrison’s presentation go to: carleton.ca/cu/aboutus/executive/vpa.html

The final installment of these annual presentations from members of the executive will take place later this spring once the provincial budget has been approved. Vice-President (Finance and Administration), Duncan Watt, will make his presentation to all faculty and staff at that time. Information regarding this event will be distributed when it becomes available.
