Carleton University Assistant Professor of Biology, Sue Bertram (right), is the recipient of the 2007 Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award. The award is valued at $10,000. Professor Kimberley Matheson, the acting vice-president (research and international), made the announcement on December 5, 2007.

Bertram will use the funds to support Lily Visanuvimol (left), a Carleton graduate student who is investigating how human-induced changes in the environment influence insect growth rate, reproduction and survival.
