Carleton, CUSA and RRRA working together on Orientation 2010

Carleton University administration, the Carleton University Student’s Association and the Rideau River Residence Association have agreed to work together for the upcoming fall Orientation Week.

In past years, student groups have organized Orientation activities that focused on friendship-building and introducing students to campus life. While many of these activities will stay, Carleton’s administration will launch a new focus on helping students make a smoother transition to academic life.

University official say these new activities will bring the Carleton Orientation Week in line with North American best practices and help improve student retention while  maintaining the traditional spirit of the week.

“We look forward to working with student volunteers who have played such an important role in welcoming new students to campus during Orientation Week,” says Suzanne Blanchard, associate vice-president of Student Support Services.
