– Looking for healthy alternatives to your meal options? Food Services at Carleton is now a certified Eat Smart! location. Menus have been altered to accommodate Eat Smart’s nutritional standards, and as a result, 50 percent of all grain products are whole grains, all daily specials contain three of the four food groups from Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating, and all sandwiches feature lower fat mayonnaise. Registered dieticians have ensured all campus food locations have adhered to Ottawa Public Health and Safety guidelines.

All of Campus Services’ locations from the Fresh Food Company, to the Oasis, to the Food Court are Eat Smart! certified.

– Pharmacist Mark Kearney with the Prescription Shop Pharmacy at Carleton, was presented with the 2004 Canadian Pharmacists Association New Practitioner Award. The award recognizes new practitioners who have made significant contributions through their involvement in pharmacy organizations and professional activities. One initiative for which Kearney was recognized was his contribution to the development of a travel clinic, which involved collaboration with Carleton’s Department of Housing a Counselling Services. Congratulations!
