Pearce’s receding hairline

On April 3, Professor Trevor Pearce (above) lost all of his hair and raised over $1,600–but all for a good cause, cancer research. Pearce’s seventeen year-old son was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). According to Pearce, “this encounter with cancer has left me in shock and in awe of both the medical support at CHEO and my son’s strength.” He is determined to do something positive so has launched a fundraiser. His target is to raise $1,000 per academic term. Every term that the target is met, he will keep his head shaved in support of those who regularly lose their hair as a side effect of chemotherapy.
