Virtual Ventures (VV)

Virtual Ventures camps focus on technology, science and engineering and aim. Participants build and design websites, create computer animations, and perform science experiments and activities.

Date: Week-long programs, July 3 to August 17
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Extended hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
Cost: $190.00 to $215.00, depending on the dates (discount for Carleton employees)
Ages: Grades 1 to 10

Summer sports

These camps offer fencing, soccer, basketball, ultimate, field hockey…and more.

Date: Four two-week sessions from July 2 to August 24
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Age of participants: Boys and girls, 7 to 14
Cost: $426 and $365, depending on the session. Includes lunch, Red Cross swimming, t-shirt & daily swims.

Athletics also offers a variety of specialty camps: Junior/intermediate and senior co-ed soccer, lifesaving, squash, basketball, hockey (in partnership with the Ottawa 67’s) and a new multi-sport camp.

BIZ Camp

The Sprott School of Business will be offering a free three-week summer program for ‘at-risk’ youth interested in developing the skills and knowledge related to running your own business.

The instructor in the program will be a high school business teacher, with additional activities coordinated in conjunction with in-classroom experience including team-building activities, workplace visits, and guest speakers. The camp is aimed to foster business and entrepreneurial skills in aspiring youth to develop self-worth, confidence, and business savvy while having FUN!

Date: July 9 to July 27, Monday to Friday
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Shad Valley

Senior high school students are selected for their academic capabilities, as well as their community involvement and creativity. Shad Valley builds on an academic foundation of mathematics, science, engineering, and entrepreneurship. Carleton University will host 52 students from across Canada this year.
