Carleton says goodbye to former Chair of Civil Engineering

The Carleton community was sad to learn of the death of Professor Emeritus John Adjeleian, on October 14.

Born in Massachusetts, Adjeleian studied at McGill and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Adjeleian had a very successful career in structural engineering, founding the firm known today as Adjeleian Allen Rubeli. He was also Chair of Carleton’s Department of Civil Engineering from 1975-1990.

Adjeleian was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, and strong supporter of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Adjeleian is survived by his four children, and many grandchildren.
