New Vice-President

President Roseann O’Reilly Runte has announced the appointment of Dr. Kim Matheson as Vice-President (Research and International). The position was unanimously approved by the university’s Board of Governors following a search committee’s recommendation.

Dr. Matheson, who held the position in an acting capacity, has extensive experience as an outstanding researcher and academic administrator. She joined Carleton’s Department of Psychology in 1990 and was promoted to full professor in 2003. She has published extensively on a wide range of issues in the social and health sciences. She is one of few researchers to have been funded by all three major funding agencies — the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

She received her PhD in 1988 from the University of Waterloo and is a Carleton alumna (BAHons/82, MA/83).
