University Safety News

SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH

As we move towards winter months, the hours of daylight begin to diminish. The Department of University Safety would like to remind all those who will be staying on campus past dark to exercise caution. Risk can be minimized by being aware of services that DUS provides, as well as your surroundings.

SUMMARY

Those staying past dark on campus are encouraged to make use of the Safe Path; a route which outlines commonly travelled and well-lit areas on campus. Foot Patrol offers a valuable service and will escort individuals to their vehicle, residence room or the bus stop in the evening. Persons working late are also encouraged to register with DUS’s Working After Hours program, where you can arrange to have an officer make routine patrols of your area.
