Safety Tip of the Month

The Department of University Safety would like to welcome all new staff, faculty and students to the Carleton community and remind everyone of the various crime prevention programs available. From laptop anti-theft devices to bicycle registration and safe walk escorts, our department seeks to protect your property and your personal safety. Information about programs can be found at:

To date, over 10,000 students staff and faculty have taken a proactive approach to personal safety by registering their cellphone numbers in Carleton’s new Emergency Notification System. This system will allow quick and effective communication in the event of a campus-wide emergency through text messaging, email and a computer lockdown. Anyone on campus who has not yet registered their cellphone number can do so by logging on to Carleton central.
