The exercise manifesto


Carleton’s Department of Physical Recreation and Athletics is trying to acquaint all incoming students with its facilities and programs available at the pool, field house, fitness centre, gymnasium, outdoor fields, and squash and tennis courts.

Fall fitness begins September 15 and includes 12 programs comprising 39 classes. These can be regular or specialty classes, such as Super Circuit Training, Cardio Hip Hop, Cardio Kickboxing, Pilates, Personal Training Services, Fitness Appraisal, among others.

There are also dance-instruction classes, from hip hop to belly dancing, as well as yoga and martial arts. The swimming pool offers a wide selection of aquatic classes.

Information and registration is available on-line at, which also includes a link for intramural sports. Program guides are available at the Athletics Centre. Information can also be obtained at 520-4480.
