Samy Mahmoud re-appointed as Dean of Engineering and Design

The Carleton University Board of Governors is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Samy Mahmoud as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Design for a three-year term. Mahmoud, an internationally renowned expert in telecommunications, has been a member of Carleton’s Faculty of Engineering and Design for almost 30 years, including the past six years as Dean. He pursued both his master’s and Ph.D. at Carleton, having previously completed his B.Sc. at Ain Shams University in Cairo. “We have an outstanding faculty of experienced as well as new, energetic professors, dedicated staff, and world-class facilities. Above all, we have top-quality students and graduates”, says Mahmoud. “We have seen a lot of positive growth and change within the faculty, and I am excited about continuing that trend.”
