Gail Blake – Athletics

I have been a long time supporter of the United Way at Carleton and really believe the money raised has a positive effect in the community. One in three people use one of the agencies supported by the United Way, and most of us know someone directly that has been helped by the United Way. My nephew was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was two, and although the surgery was successful, he became blind after the operation. Tim is now 34 and has been supported by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, which receives much needed funding from the United Way. I know our donations to the United Way make a real difference. If you’re not already a donor, I encourage you to get involved and see how the United Way can change lives.
